When a gap is present after loss of a tooth, Dr. Holwager may recommend placement of a dental bridge. A bridge is typically attached to the two teeth on the sides of the existing gap with a false tooth or multiple teeth attached in between.
With crown and bridge procedures, the tooth or teeth will be shaped, an impression of your mouth will be made and the tooth or teeth will be covered with a temporary crown or bridge. The impression is then sent to a professional U.S. dental laboratory where it will be custom-made to fit your mouth and match your natural tooth color.
When the crown or bridge has been received from the laboratory, Dr. Holwager will inspect it for accuracy and esthetics and you will return to our office to have it cemented into place.
