Twin Lakes Family Dental proudly offers sedation dentistry for our patients.
Dental phobia is a serious problem that affects patients of all ages, often leading to skipped dental visits which leads to worsening of oral health problems. Thankfully, IV sedation creates a calm and pleasant environment that soothes even the most frazzled nerves in the treatment chair!
Dr. Holwager and her team have received extensive hands-on training in IV sedation. With IV sedation, a sedative is administered that deeply relaxes the patient very quickly. Most patients remain awake, but some are able to just fall asleep during their appointment. Our team can adjust the sedative during the dental procedure to ensure the patient remains comfortable each and every moment.
We highly recommend sedation dentistry for patients who:
Experience mild to moderate dental phobia
Feel nervous being around the sights and sounds of a dental office
Have had a previous traumatic experience at the dentist
Are in need of extensive procedures
Want to have multiple procedures completed in one appointment to save time
Have a sensitive gag reflex
Have chronic jaw, neck, and/or back pain that makes sitting for an entire appointment difficult

It is never too late to create a beautiful smile. An improper bite, uncomfortable spacing or crooked teeth can have a negative impact on your entire physical and mental well-being. Fortunately, there are many orthodontic treatments available to correct these issues and give you the beautiful smile that will improve your overall health and your confidence.
For our younger patients, this means we can offer early intervention to support the healthy development of their smile and facial structure.
For the adults, we know that you could have put off straightening your smile for years, or perhaps you had braces when you were young, but your teeth have relapsed. We have a range of options available to straighten your smile in a comfortable, attractive and convenient manner.
Our professional team is here to guide our patients and their families every step of the way.
Missing teeth can cause embarrassment, discomfort and a number of oral health problems. Fortunately, dental implants are a common treatment option to replace a missing tooth and restore your smile. If you have a missing tooth or teeth, then we can help determine the best treatment option for you.
Dental implants are one of the preferred ways to replace missing or extracted teeth because of their longevity and natural feeling. They are specifically made for you and placed into your jaw as a fully functional substitute for missing teeth or extracted teeth.
Smile Makeovers, otherwise known as cosmetic dentistry, are designed to create a positive change in your teeth in order to enhance your smile and your confidence. Our team can provide you with a refreshing, natural-looking smile that will make you look great and feel better about yourself by making your teeth whiter, reshaping teeth that don’t match the others, closing gaps between teeth, filling cavities with tooth-colored materials, repairing chips and rough spots with fillings that match and even covering broken teeth with porcelain crowns.
Common procedures associated with a Smile Makeover include veneers, teeth whitening applications, crowns and cosmetic orthodontics.

Routine Dental Checkups
Routine dental checkups are vital to good oral hygiene and are the best way to detect problems at their earliest stages. Early detection and treatment saves unnecessary discomfort, time and money.
Dr. Holwager recommends checkups twice a year. Oral hygiene needs change with age and the condition of your teeth and gums and as a result, your dentist may recommend a checkup schedule that is more or less frequent than twice a year.
Your dental checkup includes:
A visual exam of your mouth, face, jaw and neck
Digital diagnostics, as determined by your dentist
A gingival pocket exam
An oral cancer screening
Professional cleaning of your teeth
Comprehensive data capture in an electronic dental record
